Recently, the Cleveland Cultural Gardens launched the America 250 Project, an initiative honoring the diversity of America by recognizing individuals from the many countries and cultures represented in the Cultural Gardens who have made a lasting impact while living in the United States.

The Slovenian community was invited to select three individuals whose contributions have significantly enriched and preserved Slovenian heritage, culture, and traditions in the United States.

To celebrate the three honorees, James Debevec, Dr. Edward Gobetz (Gobec), Mrs. Breda Loncar, the Slovenian Cultural Garden Association will host a special commemoration on Sunday, September 27, 2026, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Slovenian Cultural Garden, 820 East Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio.
