Dear Supporters of the Slovenian American Times,

Thank you for the continuous stream of heartwarming notes of support and encouragement we’ve received from so many of you, both from Email and Voicemail.  

We are pleased to report that since the challenges we faced in November and December, we have made progress in our efforts to retool.  Most notably, we have secured the services of a talented, Graphic Artist, Barb Somrack, who is doing a wonderful job assembling so much content from so many unique sources, into an interesting and visually appealing newspaper.  Additionally, we have identified a new printer, located nearby, in Cleveland, OH, that utilizes the Cleveland Post Office shaving at least a few days of delivery time, at least for those living in greater Cleveland.  Also, we have established a relationship with staff from the Druzina Magazine in Slovenia.  They now provide us with interesting content, in English and Slovenian, presented side-by-side, helping readers improve their Slovenian reading capabilities when reading along in both languages.  Finally, thank you those who have stepped up, offering their time to help keep the SAT going. We now have some volunteer help with managing the Calendar and Roster of Organizations as well as help with logging mail and messages.

Though we are pleased with this progress, we continue to rely heavily on help from the Community to continue the mission we set out on in 2008.   Here is how you can help: 

• Please continue to support us by keeping your subscription current.  
• Please, whenever possible, support our advertisers who contribute significantly to making the SAT possible.  If you own a business, please consider advertising here, in the SAT.  Our SLO community is known to be a fiercely, loyal consumer group when they’ve been treated properly.  Please consider how this could benefit your business.  
• We are still in need of help from tech-savvy, folks that have modern-day insights into social media and Technology.  An updated Facebook Page would surely help draw interest and engagement of younger generations who, before we know it, will lead this community.
• We continue to seek an Office Assistant, a compensated role, who would, on a regular basis of 15 to 20 hours per week, manage the day-to-day office functions of the SAT.  Please see the adjacent ad.

Ongoing production of the Slovenian American Times

By now you are aware that in lieu of a February edition, we opted to recalibrate our timing such that the March and future editions of the SAT will land in mailboxes right around the first of each month.  We will make every effort we can to meet the required deadlines for this to occur but, please note we will aways remain at the mercy of the U.S. Postal Service.   

Going forward, we intend to expand the use and functionality of our website, Slovenianamericantimes.com.  Please look there for news, announcements and updated entries to our Calendar and when necessary, to the listing of Obituaries.  Corporate Advertisers, thank you for your patience as we re-tool.  We will be in touch with you soon to re-introduce ourselves.

We thank you for your continued patience and support as we work out remaining kinks.  Please know that our team, small but determined, remains committed to delivering the SAT to our beloved Slovenian Community on a timely and consistent basis, always with interesting and relevant information. 

As we mark the beginning of Lent, all of us involved with the Slovenian American Times wish a peaceful and meaningful season of reflection to our Community of supporters, subscribers and advertisers.
