Obituaries – December 2025

Doris M. Belovich, 98 years old. Daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Belovich (nee Novak). Sister of the late Robert F. and Thomas. Aunt and great aunt of many. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Charles Borromeo Church followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. 

Margaret Boehm (nee Jenko), 66 years old, passed away Nov. 17, 2025. Margaret was born Jan. 6, 1959, in Euclid, Ohio as the daughter of the late Flora and Joseph Jenko. She graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor’s degree in interior design. She continued to march to the beat of her own drum, exploring multiple careers in fields where she was helpful and brought beauty. The wife of Gustavo Ernesto Boehm. Mother of Andrew, Peter, Caroline, and David. Also survived by a brother. Friends and family were received at DeJohn Funeral Home Chesterland, OH.

Elsie Mary Glavac (nee Mavko), 99 years old, passed away Oct. 31, 2025. Elsie was born as the daughter of the late Matthew and Louise Mavko (nee Mulc). Wife of the late William. Mother of Bill (Pattie) Glavac and Luann Glavac. Grandmother of Joe (Jennifer) Kupiec and great-grandmother of Madison, Kyle, and Chloe Kupiec. Preceded in death by her brothers Lou (Jo) Mavko and Ed (Kay and Janet) Mavko. She was known as a wonderful cook and baker, especially her homemade black raspberry pie. She enjoyed a good game of cards and the lifelong friendships she made in the Euclid Card Club. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Mary the Assumption Church, Mentor, Ohio, with private burial at a later date. 

William “Bill” Grubich, 79 years old, passed away Nov. 15, 2025. Born July 23, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio. Veteran, U.S. Army, served during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Millcraft Paper for 27 years until he retired. Bill was the Vice-President of Deltacraft, a paper converting company, in Buffalo, New York, for 17 years. Husband of Jan. Father of Megan Oyster (Michael) and Bejamin. Grandfather of Luke, Jessie, and Kate Oyster. Uncle of many. Preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Grace Grubich, and his brother, Michael (Mickey) Grubich. Family and friends were received at Redmon Funeral Home, where final services were also held, followed by burial at Hillside Memorial Park.

Joseph “Joe” Joze” Ivanetic (aka Evanetic), 96 years old, was born in Slovenia on Mar. 17, 1929, son of the late Matija and Ana (nee Plut) Ivanetic. Preceded in death by his sister Agnes, brother “Anton, Anthony, Tony,” and five other siblings. Survived by numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Vitus Church followed by burial at All Souls Cemetery. Family and friends were received in church one hour before the Mass. 

Ellie Kickel (nee Rainone), 73 years old. Wife of James Kickel. Mother of Melissa (Eric) Smith and Allison Kickel. Grandmother of Quinton, Owen, Sheamus, Clara, Isida and Hendrik “PJ.” Sister of Martha (Mike) Groff, John (Nancy) Rainone, Linda Zupan and Rick (Debbie) Rainone.  A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held at Holy Angels Church. 

William Michael “Cookie” Kovacic, 73 years old, of Thompson, Ohio, passed away Oct. 22, 2025. Brother of Andrea Medvec, Michael (Elaine) Kovacic, Anthony (Caroline) Kovacic, and Timothy (Ellie) Kovacic. Uncle of Steve (Jessica), Andrea, A.J., Samantha, Natalie, Daryann, Kolt, Isabelle, Steven, and Sydne; and great-uncle of Hunter. Longtime friend of Pam Duncan. He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Cookie” and Rosie Kovacic. Member of Local 18 Operating Engineers. Family and friends were received at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, where final services were also held. The burial was at Maple Grove Cemetery, Thompson, Ohio. 

Helen Marie Kozlevchar, 90 years old, passed away Nov. 11, 2025. Born May 28, 1935, in Cleveland, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Champa. Helen devoted her life to her family. Wife of the late John. Mother of John and Mary Jo (Joseph) Oppedisano. Grandmother of Samantha (Ronny) Tiedman, Anna Oppedisano, Michael Oppedisano, Isabella Oppedisano, and Abby Kosch. Also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Ann Champa. Preceded in death by her brother, Edward Champa. Member, Holmes Avenue Slovenian Home and St. Mary Magdalene Parish. Alumnus of St. Vitus Elementary School. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Mary Magdalene Church. 

John Andrew Kuhar, 93 years old, passed away Sept. 27, 2025. Born in Akron, Ohio in 1931. He graduated from Garfield High School, Class of 1949. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Operational Management from University of Akron, Class of 1954, where he served as President of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He was employed by Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, serving as manager of the Industrial Products division. He was recognized nationally with the Goodyear Spirit Award in 1984. John turned his passion for art and antiques into his second career. A highly respected estate sale professional and appraiser, he was known for both his expertise and love of collectibles, art, and antiquities. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Kuhar; his brother, Donald Kuhar; and his wife, Gloria. Father of Mary Ellen (Tony) Kimberlin, John E. Kuhar, and Patti (Michael) Hoying. Grandfather of Mike Kimberlin, Sam Renner, Tom (Maria) Kimberlin, and Teddy Renner. Family and friends were received at Hummel Funeral Home, where final prayer services were held, followed by a private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Jean Madjerec, 92 years old. Born Feb. 23, 1933, in Barberton, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Ivana (Jennie) Cic. Wife of Tom. Mother of Michael (Kim), Robert (Lisa) and Carol Smith (Greg). Grandmother of Kayla, Danica, Jason and Brett; and great-grandmother of three. Jean worked at Asarco, Kennecott Hospital and Mayo Clinic before she retired. Jean cherished all the memories made with her family and enjoyed her Slovenian heritage. She was known for her baking, especially her strudels and poticas. She and Tom took up music in their 50s, learning how to play the button box accordion. 

Ivan Malvic, 94 years old. He was born as the son of the late Matt and Mary Malvic in Cleveland, Ohio. Husband of the late Dolores “Doady” (nee Skedel). Father of Carol Wilson (Harold) and John (Leslie). Grandfather of Michael Harbert (Casey), Danny (Kimberly), Greg (Jessica), Matthew (Jillian Lombardy), Jared, and Grace. Veteran, U.S. Army. After honorable discharge, he was employed as a Railroad Engineer with Norfolk & Southern. He was an avid golfer, talented wood carver, and a skilled maker of homemade red wine, and loved to travel. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Columbkille Church, followed by interment of cremated remains at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. 

John Martincic, 90 years old. Husband of the late Patricia. Father of John-Giz, Mary Rose, Gerald-Jeanne Martincic, and Paul Fitzpatrick. Grandfather and great-grandfather of many. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose, and great-grandson Lucas. Services were held at Calvary Cemetery, Cleveland, Ohio.

Ann Angela Pausic (nee Drensek), 103 years old, passed away Oct. 24, 2025. She was born Feb. 1, 1922, daughter of the late Michael Drensek and Anna (nee Zabukovec). Wife of the late Emeric Joseph Pausic. Mother of Kathleen Gagen and Michael Pausic (Bonnie). Her life centered around her faith, family, and many friends. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held at Our Lady of the Lake Church, followed by burial at All Souls Cemetery. 

Ruth E. Polzer, 91 years old. Mother of Elaine Stephens, Kathleen (Joe) Pinchot, Barbara Hilston, Nancy Bullard, Robert (Tam) Polzer, Lisa (Mike) Rowan, and Mary (Mike Ball) Dregne; Grandmother of 23 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Polzer; sons-in-law, Ed Stephens, Mike Hilston, Ted Bullard; great-grandson, Jacob Joseph Hilston, and her parents, Howard Benedict and Antoinette (Hansen) Benedict. Member, Lodge #24, AMLA. Ruth was employed at the Road Workers Credit Union and Lake County Treasurer’s office. Member, St. Mary Parish, Painesville, Ohio, where she served the church as a CCD (PSR) teacher for 16 years. Member, St. Patrick Parish, Thompson, Ohio. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Mary Church, followed by burial at Williams Cemetery in8 Leroy Township, OH.

Frank “Roscoe” J. Rozic, 78 years old, passed away Oct. 19, 2025. Son of the late Frank and Angela (nee Lukasik) Rozic. Brother of Elaine Rozic. Nephew of the late Stanley (Rose, deceased) and Jennie Rozic. Cousin of Richard (Renee), Cassie, Joe, and the late Stan. Frank was born on Aug. 26, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, off East 58th Street in the St. Clair Avenue neighborhood. Graduate of Benedictine High School, Class of 1965. Frank then graduated from Cleveland State University, Class of 1969, with a BBA degree. For the past 43 years, Frank had resided in Concord Township, OH. He was employed as a sales representative for United Brands, Ryan Instruments, Ameripath, and several other smaller companies. Member, St. Gabriel Parish, Slovenska Pristava, Buckeye Big Buck Club, and Pine Valley Hunting Lodge. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Gabriel Church. Family and friends were received at Zevnik-Cosic Funeral Home. 

Dr. Stefan Slak, 93 years old, University of Toledo Professor Emeritus, passed away on Nov. 1, 2025. Husband of Hewen Slak. Father of Milan Duran. Grandfather of Aleana Louise and Gabriella Louise. Stefan was born on Dec. 26, 1932, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. He received a diploma in Psychology from the University of Paris (Sorbonne) in 1961, a master’s degree in psychology, Lehigh University in 1964, and a Ph.D. in Psychology, Wayne State University in 1967. Stefan joined the University of Toledo faculty in the Department of Psychology in 1967. He retired in 1995. At retirement, he was awarded the title “Professor Emeritus.” He was the co-founder of the Society of Slovenian Studies and participated in publications of the Slovenian Society. Stefan had 58 scientific and technical publications in the area of Psychology. Stefan loved to study languages: Chinese, Esperanto, French, Italian, and Russian. Stefan enjoyed playing chess, organ, and studying the world atlas. 

Ralph J. Smola, 96 years old, passed away on Oct. 29, 2025. Ralph was born Jan. 28, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Michael and Mary Smola. Veteran, U.S. Navy, Korean War. Husband of the late Mary E. (nee Fasham). After honorable discharge, he was employed at TRW until his retirement. Member of St. Mary Magdalene Parish, Holy Name Society, and Knights of Columbus. Also preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Horabik. Father of Robert Smola (Judy Ryan), Ronald Smola, and Donald Smola (Karen), son-in-law Michael Horabik. Grandfather of Kimberly (Steve), Michael, James, Stephanie (Brett), Andrew (Jamie), Benjamin (Colleen), Ronald (Carleigh), and Mary; and the great-grandfather of Frank, Parker, Taylor, Robert, McKenzie, Leah, Nolan, Hazel, and Oliver. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Mary Magdalene Church, followed by burial at All Souls Cemetery. 

Albert J. Somrack, 96 years old. Husband of Stefi (nee Silc). Father of Denise D’Angelo (Drew, deceased) and Danielle Kretch (Bruce). Grandfather of Alyssa Beerger (Zach), Salvatore D’Angelo (fiancé Sarah Raemer), and Kyle, Alec, and Chase (Claire Burkett) Kretch. Son of the late Anton and Anna (nee Bradac). Brother of the late Anthony, Adolph, Ann Kronik, Alberta Jarc, and Frank; and brother-in-law of Darlene and Ben Giaimo. Uncle and great-uncle of many. Veteran, U.S. Army, Korean War. Albert was born on July 18, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Collinwood High School, Class of 1948.  He enlisted in the US Army. After honorable discharge, Albert opened a restaurant, coined “Albie’s Place.” Member, Pensioners, and SNPJ. He was an avid reader and enjoyed polka dancing, coin collecting, and traveling. He was very proud of his Slovenian heritage and his Catholic faith. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Mary Magdalene Church, followed by burial with full military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Family and friends were received at Zevnik-Cosic Funeral Home. 

Dennis John Stautihar, 67 years old. Born July 15, 1957, in Cleveland, Ohio. Son of the late Frank Lawrence Stautihar and Mildred J. Stautihar-Mirtel. Husband of Anita Collins-Stautihar. Sibling of Gale (Guy) Pezzulo, Darlene (Michael) Figlar, Denise Nenadovic, and John “Butch” McCarty. Stepfather of Christopher Collins and Jonathan Collins. Uncle of Bryan and Ryan Pezzulo, Alison and Alexis Figlar, and a grandson, Gavin Collins, and great-uncle to Bryan Jr. and Talia Pezzulo. Dennis dedicated many years of service to General Electric. Member, Lodge #20, AMLA. A memorial service is to be held at a future date.  

David Sterlekar, 81 years old, passed away Nov. 1, 2025. He was born on July 18, 1942. Husband of Marlene (nee Oberstar). Father of Sherry Parker (Jim), Cindy Knapp (Mark), Davey (Kim), Steven (deceased), and Crissy Turk (Bill). Grandfather of Amanda (Adam), Trent, Taylor, Abbey, Anthony, Sammy, Stevie, Connor, and Grayce; and great-grandfather of Blake. Brother of Susan Tegel (AI) and Sandy Johnson (Don). Preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Esther Sterlekar. Dave attended St. Joseph High School, University of Dayton (B.S in education), and John Carroll University (M.A. in education, Guidance and Administration). Co-captain at St. Joseph High School football team. He played for four years at the University of Dayton. Dave served for 41 years teaching, coaching, and in administration at Padua H.S., Euclid H.S., Wickliffe H.S., Willoughby Jr. High, and Newbury Middle School. He was very proud to have established the wrestling program at Padua and served as the Head Coach at Wickliffe H.S. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held at Holy Angels Church followed by interment at All Souls Cemetery.

Christopher R. “Chris” Sustar, 55 years old. Born on Mar. 20, 1970, in Cleveland, Ohio. He was part-owner and Vice President of Purchasing at Fredon Corporation, the family manufacturing business, in Mentor, OH. Chris enjoyed the outdoors: riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, and boating. Chris attended Julie Billiart School where he was given academic support, encouragement, and made lifelong friends. He graduated from St. Peter Chanel High School and then began working at the family business. No task was too small or too large: sweeping shop floors, becoming a Journeyman Machinist, and then Vice President of Purchasing. He worked alongside his father Roger, sister Alyson, son Chris Jr., and daughter Emily. Father of Christopher R. “Chris” (Haley) Sustar Jr. and Emily Sustar. Grandfather of Braxton and Carter. Son of Roger and the late Judith “Judy” (nee Ulepic). Brother of Alyson (Michael Caronchi) Scott, and Jason Sisky. Uncle of Chase and Maxwell Scott, Mitchell and Juliana Sisky. 

Anton “Tony” Urh, 83 years old, passed away Oct. 22, 2025. Anton was born in the Republic of Slovenia and legally immigrated to the USA on Nov. 29, 1967. He made his home in Richfield, Ohio, where he lived most of his life. Husband of Karen (nee Smith). Father of Jennifer Burke (Tom) and Kristin Wilson (Kirk). Grandfather of Nora, Lillian, Henry Burke, and Zachary Wilson.  Brother of Boža Bubnič of Slovenia; and many nieces and nephews. Anton was a skilled carpenter, avid hunter, and devoted hobby beekeeper. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and found joy in nature and the simple pleasures of life. His quiet strength, hard work, and love for his family will be remembered always. 

Kenneth “Ken” Zalar, 75 years old, passed away on Nov. 14, 2025. Born July 24, 1950. Ken served as a police officer for 28 years, initially as a patrolman and later as a detective. His career began working in the Sheriff’s Department. In recognition of his impact, he was named Slovenian Man of the Year, a tribute to both his heritage and his commitment to others. Ken loved polkas: he formed Ken Zalar & The Captain’s Crew, earning a place in the Polka Hall of Fame. Husband of Margie. Father of Kristen, Rachel, and Kenny. Grandfather of Alexia, Rosalie, and Owen. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Justin Martyr Church followed by burial at All Souls Cemetery. 

Joseph C. Zeleniakas, 36 years old. He was born on June 28, 1989. Member Lodge # 8 Kras, AMLA. 

Carol A. Zimmerman, 79 years old. She was born on Feb. 1, 1946. Resident of Euclid, Ohio. Member, Lodge #8 Kras, AMLA. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Justin Martyr Church. All arrangements were entrusted to Turk Funeral Home.

National/ International Deaths

Kathleen Marie “Kathy” Karpan, 83 years old, passed away on Oct. 24, 2025 in Cheyene, WY. She grew up in the Slovenian community in Rock Springs, WY. She graduated from Rawlins High School and went on to twice win an election as Wyoming’s Secretary of State. Kathy was born in 1942, daughter of the late Thomas Michael and Pauline Taucher Karpan, a quintessential Croatian Slovenian immigrant family. Sister of Judy and Frank. After she retired from the practice of law in 2016, Kathy would read the Bible and say a litany of prayers for two a day. She was the press secretary of U.S. Congressman Teno Roncalio (WY), 1965-67.  She worked at the Wyoming Eagle in Cheyenne; and then worked at the copy desk of the Canberra Times, Australia. Kathy earned a master’s degree in American Studies and enrolled in the University of Oregon School of Law in 1975. She returned to Washington D.C. as legal counsel to the Department of Commerce’s Economic Development. Kathy was elected Secretary of State in 1987 and reelected in 1991.  In 1994, she ran for Governor in Wyoming but was defeated. President Clinton appointed Kathy in 1996 as director of the United States Office of Surface Mining, Reclamation and Enforcement- an agency of the Department of Interior. Later on, Kathy was asked to be the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management. Kathy served at Interior from May of 1997 until the end of the second Clinton administration. She is survived by younger sister Judy Price. Her brother Frank preceded in death as a young man in an industrial accident working on the Trailblazer Pipeline. She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at the Cathedral of St. Mary, Cheyenne, WY. Interment will be in the Rock Springs cemetery at a later date.

Julia Kolaric (nee Bohenc), 97 years old. Julia was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut but the family moved back to Slovenia at the age of five. Wife of the late Roman Kolaric. Mother of Marvin Kolaric, Margaret Fulop, and Michael Kolaric (Barbara). Grandmother of Julia Reilly (nee Fulop) (Sean), Andrea Fulop, Amanda Kolaric, Rhonda Kolaric, Anthony Kolaric; and great-grandmother of Alianna Reilly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Pucko Bohnec and Ignac Bohnec; twelve siblings; her daughter-in-law, Ina Kolaric; son-in-law Frank Fulop; and granddaughter Jessica Kolaric. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life: working in her garden, crocheting and knitting with care, and traveling with friends and family. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was held at Holy Cross Church, Fairfield, CT., followed by interment at Oaklawn Cemetery. Wr. Note: Holy Cross is the sole Slovenian parish in CT. 

Edith “Dee Dee” Komidor, 77 years old. Born Dec. 6, 1947, in Biwabik, MN. Daughter of the late John and Edith Phillipich. She graduated from Biwabik High School and then from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a bachelor’s degree in business education, along with a master’s degree in education. She was a teacher at Hibbing High School. While teaching, she developed and executed a student placed business work program.  Wife of Jess Komidor. She was a gifted crafter and gardener and took great pride in canning pickles and preserves. Music brought her joy – especially polkas. Along with listening, she played the piano accordion. Preceded in death by her sister, Olive Phillipich; in-laws, Edward and Frances Komidor; and great-grandson Calvin Fagerstrom. Survived by her stepdaughters Debbie (Tim) Ferrell, Jenelle (Doug) Bryan, and Tamera (Mark) Blagoue; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dee Dee is also survived by her “brother” John Jones. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was at St. Joseph Church, Chisholm, MN. A private family burial will follow at Lakeside Cemetery. 

Andrew “Andrej” Kozel, 57 years old, Prospect and Avon Park, FL, passed away due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident alongside his son. Husband of Joann DeBiase Kozel. Andrej was born Dec. 23, 1967, in Ptuj, Slovenia, son of Bogomir and Ana (Visinski) Kozel. He was a long-time Stratford, CT. resident. Andrej legally immigrated to the USA in 1987. He was immediately employed at Anthony’s Autobody in Bridgeport, Ct. He then began his career at JV Precision, in Seymour, and was currently the plant manager. He enjoyed camping, riding ATVs, watching NASCAR and traveling to Florida to spend time at their second home in FL. He is survived by his sisters, Ana Zvajker (Boris), Brigita Berglez (Marjan),  stepmother-in-law, Sonya DeBiase, and six brothers and sisters-in-law, Debra Cormier, Christopher DeBiase, Jeffrey DeBiase, Donna Eyrich (John), Stephan (Missy) DeBiase, and Kathryn Bruder (Matt). Predeceased by three brothers-in-law, Anthony, Nick and Randy (Barbara) DeBiase, and father-in-law, Anthony DeBiase Jr. Cousin of Andrew (Jill) and Josef (Helen) Visinski. A Funeral Service took place at Abriola Parkview Funeral Home.

John Anthony Maistrovich, 82 years old. Born July 13, 1922, son of the late Anton and Mary (nee Nosan) Maistrovich, Croatian and Slovenian immigrants to the USA. The family resided in Virginia, MN. After the death of his mother, five year old John was raised by his father and six siblings. He graduated from the University of Minnesota, receiving a bachelor’s, M.A. degree and Ph.D. equivalent, Specialist in Education. He had a long teaching career in the Minneapolis public school system, John is also characterized by his many diverse pursuits and avid interests: cooking, gardening, wood sculpting, and book club member.  Husband of Guinevere. Father of Mark (Jan) and Todd. Grandfather of Jesse and Luke. Sibling of Mary Kishel/Larsen, Ladislow Frank Maistrovich. Uncle and great-uncle. Also preceded in death by his parents,siblings Julia Anderson, Angela Flaherty, Margaret Lassila and Louis Maistrovich. A memorial service was held at the Gideon Pond Chapel.

Douglas “Doug” Mersek, 64 years old, passed away Oct. 22, 2025, in Venice, FL. Doug was born July 24, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from St. Joseph High School. Husband of Jill. Father of Mandi Green (Andrew), son Jeremy (Riley). Grandfather of Tommy Green, Sawyer and Warren Mersek.

Vincent Stepancic, 93 years old, passed away on Oct. 6, 2025, in Alberta, Canada. Vincent “Vinko” was born in Temnica, Slovenia, in 1931. He legally immigrated to Canada via Montreal in 1957. He made his way west, settling in Calgary, Alberta. Husband of the late Lidia (nee Spacal). Father of Olga Follet (Charles) and Susan John (Richard). Grandfather of Stephanie John (Trevor), Julia John (Ford), Kasey Follet, and Tom Follet; and great-grandfather of Clara and Dawson (Julia and Ford). Vincent loved the outdoors: fishing, hiking, hunting, and camping. He was known for his memorable baritone voice. Funeral service was held at Garden Chapel Funeral Home followed by interment at Queen’s Park Cemetery, followed by a gathering at the Slovenian Canadian Club in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Jeanne Arlene Zupan, 91 years old, Billings, MT. Jeanne was born on Sept. 6, 1933, in Ely, MN., daughter of the late Francis and John Marinsek. Her time in Ely was filled with enjoyment of family and friends and the foundation of her Slovene heritage. Wife of the late Robert “Bob.” They loved to dance the polka in their new home of Roundup, Montana. Mother of Roberta (Dave) Stengel, Mike (Sheere) Zupan, Diane (Kirk) Frazier, and Anita (Bill) Dolan. Grandmother of Kassi (Chris) Stengel-Moore, Thomas (Paige) Dolan, Lindsey (Caleb) Schreibeis, Audrey Frazier, Lucas (Amanda) Zupan, Eli Frazier, Miles (Danni) Zupan; and great-grandmother of, Will, Layne, and Maggie Schreibeis, Eli and Calvin Moore, Robbie and Colter Dolan, Willow and expected baby sister Zupan. She is also survived by her twin sister, Joyce Manecke; brother in-law Don Opitz; and sister in-law Pat Zupan. A vigil and prayer service was held at Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary, with a funeral Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, followed by interment at Yellowstone National Cemetery.
