SUMMARY:Veterans Day Mass
DESCRIPTION:November 11th – Veterans Day\n11:00 a.m. Mass at St. Vitus Church \nPlease join St. Vitus parish on Veterans Day\, Wednesday November 11 for Mass at 11:00 a.m. to honors all American military veterans who have served honorably in the United States Armed Forces—both living and deceased\, and in times of war or peace. \nFollowing Mass all are invited to the parish hall to a social with light refreshments. \nHistorical Note: Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day to commemorate the armistice of November 11\, 1918\, that took effect at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. The armistice was a temporary ceasefire; the war officially concluded months later with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on June 28\, 1919. President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed legislation on June 1\, 1954\, officially making November 11th Veterans Day a day to honor veterans of all wars. \n \nPictured is Tony Hocevar in Revolutionary military uniform Sponsored by the St. Vitus Catholic War Veterans Post 1655
